The Board announces that Kenya Airways has maintained strong profitability in the financial year ended 31st March 2007 with revenues up 11% despite increased competition, higher fuel prices and the adverse impact of a weaker US Dollar in the year. Kenya Airways adds another Boeing 767 - 300 Aircraft Nairobi, July 6th 2006 ….Kenya Airways has added an additional Boeing 767 - 300 to its fleet. This brings to seven the total number of Boeing 767 - 300 type Aircraft operated by the airline. Kenya Airways launches two new West African destinations Kenya Airways has added two destinations to its West African route network. Beginning 6th October 2006 the airline will start flights to Congo Brazzaville and Cotonou in Benin. This will bring to 30 the total international destinations covered by the airline in Africa. Kenya Airways Operating Performance, 1st Qtr – Apr To Jun 2006 Kenya Airways releases its operating results for the first quarter ended 30th June, 2006.
A capacity of 2,339m measured in seat kilometres was put to the market during the quarter which represents a growth of 20% against prior year period where only 1,952m seat kilometres were offered.The European region capacity grew by 14% driven by more operation of the larger B777s coupled with the impact of the new Mombasa-London service introduced in December 2005. read more...

Kenya Airways Orders 3 Embraer Regional Jets NAIROBI 27th November 2006… Kenya Airways will lease three EMBRAER 170s regional jets to help expand its domestic and regional routes. The Embraer 170 jets will be leased from GECAS,General Electric Commercial Aviation Services. The first two jets will be delivered in May and June 2007 and the third one in June 2008. The EMBRAER 170s will replace the SAAB 340B which will be retired from the Kenya Airways fleet. read more...

Kenya Airways sets up a Sniffer Dog Section Nairobi January 23rd 2006 …. Kenya Airways, the national carrier has today announced the setting up of an in-house Sniffer dog section based at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. This Section is composed of trained security agents in addition to highly specialized sniffer dogs. The unit will further collaborate closely with the "Kenya Police/Anti-Narcotics Unit to prevent, detect, and apprehend drug smugglers and traffickers. read more...
